Cordyline Aspire is a practice of consulting civil and structural engineers based in Warwick. The practice was launched in 2009 by its director, David Robinson, undertaking commissions throughout the midlands and south east but predominantly in Warwick and the surrounding area, Birmingham and North West London.
The combined experience of our supervising staff in the design, alteration, rehabilitation and upgrading of buildings exceeds 40 years. This experience has been gained with consulting engineers of national and international significance, local authorities and contractors across the residential, commercial, education, healthcare, leisure and retail sectors.
It is our ambition to develop services that improve our ability to introduce innovative measures into developments especially with regards to efficient and sustainable construction. The practice name represents our awareness of the importance of the role that the construction industry, and in particular our practice, has to play in respecting and protecting the environment.
Cordyline Aspire director and owner, David Robinson, has worked as a civil engineer within the construction industry since specialising in building structures since 1976 specialising for most of that time in the design, construction, maintenance and conversion of building structures. He became a full member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1986 and is registered with the Engineering Council as a chartered engineer.
In addition to engineering consultancy, between 1979 and 1982 David gained hands-on experience as a site engineer on the construction of a large reinforced concrete shopping centre where his duties included setting out, quality control, material testing and procurement.
Cordyline Aspire has adopted of the cordyline in our name and logo to represent the structural form in nature and the fragility of seemingly robust forms to outside forces. Sensitive and appropriate construction has a large part to play in protecting our environment just as it has in maintaining the relevance of our historic buildings and structures.
